## License Grant

Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person or organization obtaining a copy of this software and associated documentation files (the "Software"), to use, copy, modify, and distribute the Software, subject to the following conditions:

## Free Use

You may use this Software for free if you meet ANY of these criteria:

1. **Personal Use**: You are using the Software for personal, non-commercial purposes, including students using it for educational purposes.

2. **Small Business**: You are a business or organization whose total gross revenue from all sources in the most recent twelve (12) month period does not exceed US$500,000.

3. **Non-Profit**: You are a registered non-profit organization (excluding educational institutions, which are subject to the revenue threshold).

### Why Educational Institutions Must Pay

Educational institutions are explicitly excluded from free use because:

1. **For-Profit Status**: Many educational institutions operate as for-profit entities.

2. **Massive Endowments**: Non-profit educational institutions often possess endowments worth billions of dollars, extracted through predatory pricing practices and exploitative student loan systems.

3. **Exploitative Pricing**: These institutions charge inflated tuition costs while sitting on enormous wealth, burdening students with decades of debt.

4. **Ability to Pay**: If an institution can charge students tens of thousands of dollars per year, it can afford to pay for the software it uses.

**Note**: Individual students using this software for personal educational purposes are always welcome to use it for free. This restriction applies only to institutional use by the educational organizations themselves.

## Commercial License Required

If you do not meet any of the criteria above, you MUST purchase a commercial license before using this Software.

**Commercial use** includes but is not limited to:
- Using the Software in any business with revenue exceeding $500,000/year
- Using the Software to provide services to clients
- Incorporating the Software into a commercial product
- Using the Software for internal business operations

To purchase a commercial license, contact the copyright holder at the source code repository listed above.

## Revenue Calculation

For the purposes of the $500,000 revenue threshold:
- Count total gross revenue from ALL sources worldwide
- Calculate over any consecutive twelve (12) month period
- Include revenue from parent companies, subsidiaries, and affiliated entities
- Once you exceed the threshold, you must obtain a commercial license within thirty (30) days

## Conditions

1. **Attribution**: You must retain all copyright notices and this license text in all copies or substantial portions of the Software.

2. **No Sublicensing**: You may not grant others rights that you do not have under this license.

3. **Compliance**: You must comply with all terms of this license. If you cannot or will not comply, you must stop using the Software immediately.

## No Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. ## Termination

This license automatically terminates if you violate any of its terms. Upon termination, you must immediately cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies.

## Enforcement

The copyright holder reserves all rights to enforce this license and seek damages for violations.
