Lock playback speed to .25x intervals

Summary

When setting playback speed, you're allowed any value from 0.25 to 3x, in .05 intervals. It is hard to select any specific value (like 1.5) in this range, since the slider is so granular.
I see no practical benefit to the ability to adjust speed by .05, so I propose the granularity be adjusted to .25; this would make it much easier to reach expected values.

Basic Example

the slider would move from 1.0 -> 1.25 -> 1.50 without intermediary values

Drawbacks

anyone that actually needs such specific control of speed wouldn't be able to. Is anyone actually using this? (what for?)

this line needs to be changed from 55 (.05 per) to 11 (.25 per):

I find the .05 adjustments quite useful. I play most of my media at 1.10x or 1.15x, since it doesn't disrupt my viewing experience nearly as much as 1.25x or 1.50x.

I think a better solution would be to add two buttons (plus and minus) near the playback speed slider. It would help a lot, especially on touchscreen devices.

Okay, maybe an implementation like VLC (Android)? They have a slider, plus&minus on either side, and a set of preset buttons on the bottom.

That could work very well; slider for big adjustments, buttons for granularity, presets (maybe even user definable presets? though that could be a very niche feature and not worth it) for a quick choice

Sounds like a good improvement, few things to also consider.

• Desktop could probably have a input field for giving a specific number, we should still clamp this to a range though.
• Keep in mind the different input options (dPad,touch,pointer) for how the buttons and slider interact.
