I would start by reading everything that Erin Catto published at the GDC (starting from the oldest): https://box2d.org/publications/ |

Hey Iam Aswin M. I am recently intersected in building my own physics engine. I wanted to do this for the educational purposes and it's my long term dream to make a game without any dependencies. I hope that I will be able to do this one day. Please to provide me with the step by step guide on where to get started and how to learn all the things. Also say me how much time will it take to learn everything.
I have started learning "game physics engine development by Ian millington". I don't know whether it is possible to make a game physics which is much capable to be able to used in realtime games. I asked a lot of AI which says that it's actually impossible to make a game physics which is good for realtime and it suggested me to learn any already existing library. But I got a similar answer when I started learning to make game engine but its been around 2years me started to learn game engines. But now I have a lot of knowledge about game engines and I am also very confident that I will be able to make good graphics. I hope it would be the same way for physics engine also.
