The TypeScript SDK ships the extension in v2.4.0 and FastMCP in v4.1.2; the Python SDK has it merged but not yet released. Implementations built before those releases register skills/list, skills/get and resources/directory/read as custom request handlers. The Inspector's schemas.ts is a worked example for TypeScript; its comments record the pitfalls (typescript-sdk#2789).
