Hi everyone,

When I am trying to sign up for GitHub education on Apple products, it seems to be an odd experience.

I tried to sign up on my iPhone via chrome which blocked the permissions.

When I tried to sign up on my Mac it also denied the permissions but it only allowed me to take verification photos with the front facing camera. It did not allow me to upload documents proving my student status.

I applied on my iPad and encountered the same issue with chrome. When I went onto safari it allowed me to share my location but did not allow me to upload a supporting doccument but rather use the front facing camera to capture an image.

It was so difficult to capture anything worthy of submition and it in result it got denied. Is there an easier way to sign up?

Hi! Since you've already tried Chrome and Safari on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac, this seems more like a limitation or issue with GitHub Education's verification flow than a browser problem.

GitHub Community members have reported the same missing document-upload option. I'd recommend reporting both the missing upload option and the location-permission issue to GitHub Education Support: https://support.github.com/contact/education

Hopefully, GitHub can clarify whether an alternative verification method is available for your application.
