Students often need free resources because they don't earn yet, whereas retirees have had their working years to save money. Why should retirement alone qualify someone for free benefits? |

Redeem Benefits/Offers
Hi everyone,
Hello everyone,
Good afternoon. I am a retiree learning to program on my own as a hobby.
In the spirit of empowering the next generation of developers, I have noticed that GitHub offers free resources for students and educators—including free access to Copilot, 180 hours per month of cloud-based programming via Codespaces, unlimited private repositories (through GitHub Pro or Team), and dozens of premium tools included in the GitHub Student Developer Pack.
However, retirees—who often have limited financial resources—are not eligible for these student benefits. I would like to propose that these same free resources be made available to older adults as well.
Best regards to all.
