I'm updating jose from 5.2.4 to 6.1.1 but now the code below fails:

const verificationKey = new Uint8Array([
  1,
  2,
  3, //...
])

const ecPrivateKey = await crypto.subtle.importKey('spki', verificationKey, { name: 'ECDSA', namedCurve: 'P-256' }, false, ['verify'])
const { payload: payloadBytes } = await compactVerify(jws, ecPrivateKey) // <-- fails here

with:

TypeError: Key for the ES256 algorithm must be one of type CryptoKey, KeyObject, or JSON Web Key. Received an instance of CryptoKey
