pybricks serial communication

I found this repository:

I tested it first with the Inventor Hub using the Mindstorms firmware, then with Pybricks, but it doesn’t work in both cases.
It only works correctly with the SPIKE Prime hub with the official firmware.

My goal is to connect a Raspberry Pi to a Pybricks SPIKE Prime or Inventor Hub and establish serial communication over USB between them.

Is there any existing solution to achieve this?
Or are there any plans in the future to add support for USB serial communication with Pybricks on the Inventor Hub / SPIKE hubs?

Any guidance or workaround would be appreciated.

We are currently working on USB support for SPIKE hubs (and EV3/NXT) but it isn't ready yet.

It will use the Pybricks Profile, so it won't be just a plain serial port like that (although not out of the question to add later if there is high demand for it).

Instead, you will need to use pybricksdev (if you are writing code in Python) or something similar to handle the communications. It will have the same options we have over Bluetooth connections for either connecting to stdio or use the new AppData class we are working on.
