NEXO Brain — Launch Plan for GitHub Trending

Current State

  • Stars: 4
  • npm downloads: unknown (v1.5.2, 47 versions published)
  • Content ready: README, YouTube videos, website, benchmarks
  • Target: GitHub Trending (needs ~500 stars in 24h, realistically aim for Python weekly trending first)

Competitive Landscape

  • claude-mem: 37.2K stars — simple memory compression, no cognition
  • mcp-memory-service: popular — knowledge graph focus
  • MemCP, memsearch, memory-mcp: simpler approaches

NEXO's moat: Only one with Atkinson-Shiffrin model, Ebbinghaus decay, metacognitive guard, trust scoring, cognitive dissonance, claim graph, Deep Sleep. The others are "save and retrieve." NEXO is "think, learn, forget, adapt."

Phase 1: Foundation (Days 1-3) — GET TO 50 STARS

Day 1 (Monday)

  • Publish dev.to article — technical deep-dive already written (devto-article.md)
    • Tags: #ai, #python, #opensource, #claudecode
    • Cross-post to Medium (Towards AI publication)
    • Cross-post to Hashnode
  • Post X thread from @NEXOBRAIN (x-thread.md)
  • Submit to MCP directories:
  • Submit to GitHub Awesome lists:
    • awesome-mcp-servers (PR)
    • awesome-claude-code (PR)
    • awesome-ai-tools (PR)

Day 2 (Tuesday)

  • Reddit r/ClaudeAI — post v2 (reddit-post-claudeai-v2.md)
    • Time: 15:00 Madrid (9 AM ET)
    • Engage with EVERY comment for 2 hours
  • Reddit r/LocalLLaMA — post v2 (reddit-post-localllama-v2.md)
    • Time: 17:00 Madrid (11 AM ET), stagger from r/ClaudeAI
  • Comment on existing threads about Claude Code memory problems
    • Search r/ClaudeAI for "memory", "context", "forgets" posts
    • Helpful comment, not spam — "I built something for this: [link]"

Day 3 (Wednesday)

  • Reddit r/MachineLearning — technical angle (Atkinson-Shiffrin implementation)
  • Reddit r/artificial — broader AI angle
  • X engagement — reply to tweets about Claude Code, MCP, AI memory
  • LinkedIn post — professional angle (built while running real business)

Phase 2: The Push (Day 4-5) — AIM FOR 200+ STARS

Day 4 (Thursday) — HACKER NEWS DAY

  • Show HN post (hn-post.md)
    • Time: 14:30 Madrid (8:30 AM ET) — prime HN window
    • Be online to answer comments for 3+ hours
    • HN is make-or-break: a front page hit = 200-500 stars in one day
  • Product Hunt launch (same day or day after HN)
    • Prepare: tagline, description, 5 images, maker comment
    • Categories: AI Tools, Developer Tools, Open Source
    • Get 5 hunters to upvote in first hour

Day 5 (Friday)

  • Follow up on all channels — respond to every comment, issue, question
  • Second X thread — results/metrics thread ("we went from 4 to X stars in a week, here's what worked")
  • GitHub: Respond to any new issues within 1 hour

Phase 3: Sustain (Week 2+)

  • Weekly X post from @NEXOBRAIN — feature highlights, tips, use cases
  • Respond to every GitHub issue within 24h
  • Release v1.6.0 with a headline feature timed with content push
  • YouTube: short-form content — 60-second "NEXO in action" clips for X/TikTok
  • DEV Community engagement — comment on related articles
  • Discord/Slack communities — Claude Code Discord, MCP community channels

Key Rules

  1. Never spam. Every post must be genuinely helpful, not just "check out my repo"
  2. Engage with EVERY comment — community trust = organic growth
  3. Differentiate from claude-mem/others — we're not "another memory tool", we're cognitive architecture
  4. Time compression matters — concentrate posts within 48h window for the trending algorithm
  5. Ask for stars explicitly — in README, in posts. "If this is useful, a star helps"
  6. The benchmark is the hook — LoCoMo F1 0.588 (+55% vs GPT-4) is concrete proof, lead with it

Immediate Next Actions (Today)

  1. Submit to MCP directories (can do right now)
  2. Find and submit PRs to awesome-* lists
  3. Prepare Product Hunt page
  4. Schedule posts for this week
