I home it support all the versions:-

• version 1: date-time and MAC address
• version 2: date-time and MAC address, DCE security version
• version 3: namespace name-based
• version 4: random generated
• version 5: namespace name-based
• v7 sort-able and random
• v8 sort-able and random

The plan is currently just to make it a binding for libuuid (https://linux.die.net/man/3/libuuid). I'm not sure which version it supports; the documentation says: Conforming to OSF DCE 1.1, so maybe it is version 2?

Do you know of another readily available lib that supports all versions?
