Expected Result:

Take a 2‑minute test drive
New Workspace

Actual Result:

The option Take a 2‑minute test drive is missing from the FAB menu for a new account.

This change was intentional. An internal Expensify employee (@JmillsExpensify) explicitly instructed in issue #82517 that the test drive option should be deprecated from the Global Create FAB because the entire test drive flow had already been deprecated. The regression test that flagged this issue is checking for behavior that was deliberately removed.

The option is missing by design on staging, and it is not reproducible in production — meaning no customers are affected.

• PR Remove test drive option from Global Create FAB menu #88208 merged on 2026-04-21 explicitly removed TestDriveMenuItem from FloatingActionButtonAndPopover.tsx and removed CONST.FAB_MENU_ITEM_IDS.TEST_DRIVE from FAB_ITEM_ORDER in FABPopoverMenu.tsx.
• The PR was triggered by internal Expensify employee @JmillsExpensify who commented in issue [Due for payment 2026-05-07] [$250] Test drive - Expensify logo link leads to broken page #82517: "We should deprecate that option in Global Create. I think it was missed when we deprecated the entire 'test drive' flow."
• @ShridharGoel (internal Expensify member) instructed @MelvinBot to create the PR to remove the option.
• The PR was reviewed and approved by @ShridharGoel and @jasperhuangg.
• The bug is only reproducible on staging, not production — confirming it is a staging-only regression introduced by this intentional change landing in the current release cycle.

Verification

• The affected file is src/pages/inbox/sidebar/FloatingActionButtonAndPopover.tsx.
• PR Remove test drive option from Global Create FAB menu #88208 modifies exactly this file (and FABPopoverMenu.tsx) to remove the TestDriveMenuItem import and render call.
• The current codebase confirms TestDriveMenuItem is not rendered in FloatingActionButtonAndPopover.tsx.

Root Cause

The regression test (TR-22586) was written to verify the test drive option appears in the FAB for new accounts. PR #88208 intentionally removed this option because the entire test drive flow was deprecated. The regression test has not been updated to reflect this product decision, causing a false-positive deploy blocker. The fix needed is to update the regression test checklist, not to revert the code change.
