Description
The WS2913 is a new standalone IC from Worldsemi. It's somewhat similar to the WS2816's internal silicon in the sense that it supports three discrete LED channels dimmed with 16 bits per channel, but with the following differences:
- The 16-bit dimming space per channel is purely linear, as opposed to WS2816's 4-bit PWL gamma / 12-bit linear approach.
- It takes in a 16-bit global dimming value (RGB555 followed by a zero bit) after each reset, which sets the current sink levels for each channel across all pixels.
There's no English datasheet, but the Chinese datasheet is pretty easy to follow with automated translation anyway.
JLC just started stocking these for their assembly service at my request, and I just got a shipment of them from LCSC to tinker with, so I expect more people will notice them soon and want to use them since they're pretty neat little chips. It'd be nice to see support for them in NeoPixelBus.
