Brief description
AJH added RADAER into lfric some time ago, with technical debt, see https://code.metoffice.gov.uk/trac/lfric/ticket/2488
One part of that technical debt was that RADAER was hard coded to have a fixed GLOMAP setting (i_mode_setup==8 in UM world)
Flexibility is now required, but fortunately LFRic has some additional features not available at the inclusion of radaer which should make this function better.
