https://pypi.org/project/Mopidy-MusicBox-Webclient/ is dead. https://pypi.org/project/Mopidy-Iris/ is the most popular and sort of actively maintained alternative: https://github.com/jaedb/Iris/tree/develop

Those do not really store settings somewhere. They have a small config file, but nothing any user will be missing. Still, needs testing.

Unlikely, too much more urgent things on the ToDo for this release. Otherwise it would have a milestone assigned.

But it can be installed manually:

sudo pip3 install --break-system-packages --root-user-action=ignore -U Mopidy-Iris
echo 'mopidy ALL=NOPASSWD: /usr/local/lib/python3.13/dist-packages/mopidy_iris/system.sh' | sudo tee /etc/sudoers.d/mopidy

Then edit /etc/mopidy/mopidy.conf, add an [iris] section and configure it as needed: https://github.com/jaedb/Iris/wiki/Getting-started#configuration

Web UI will be at http://<your.IP>:6680/iris, or linked at http://<your.IP>:6680/.

The sudoers is needed for some of its GUI features, local library rescan, reboot and such, done with a shell script that is called with sudo. Note that the self-upgrade from its UI cannot work on modern distros, as the pip call would require --break-system-packages. If anyone wants to know why Mopidy and its extensions need to "break system packages" (just means they need to be installed at system-level, instead of in a venv/virtualenv), about alternative ways to install Mopidy and extensions I experimented with, and their limitations: https://discourse.mopidy.com/t/6195

If it works well, you could uninstall MusicBox:

pip3 uninstall -y --break-system-packages --root-user-action=ignore Mopidy-MusicBox-Webclient
