bug: Storage file selector shows no items despite having permissions

Bug description

Open app, select patcher, select storage picker icon. Default selector opens up, no items found, no options to use external file selectors.

Recent behaviour, have been using the manager without issue until now.

Things ive tried:
Clearing app cache
Resetting sources API
Reinstalling
Downgrading to 1.17, upgrading to 1.19rc17
Uninstalling updates to Android default "Files" application

Exact same issue popped up for me when updating to 1.19.3 from 1.8.0.

After testing, ability to select another file picker (to work around this empty "Recent" file list from default Android file manager - not even Samsung default) was present up until 1.14.2 and disappeared in 1.15.0.

Using a Samsung Galaxy S10e (Android 12).

Edit: was working fine on my Galaxy Tab S7, files were correctly displayed on the default file explorer. Could patch without issue and transferred the patched *.apk to my phone as a workaround.

I have the same issue with Xiaomi MI 11. That have android 12 as in previous comment. Maybe it should be a bug with Android 12? It works fine on my Samsung S23 ultra with Android 14.

This is actually unrelated to ReVanced, it just acted as a trigger for me to observe this for the first time as I had not needed to use the file picker for awhile.

For me, I found that my work profile is at fault (maybe because then the blue Files app gets duplicated and it messes things up? I don't know). And I've found that deleting my work profile makes the blue Files app work again.

However lots of people have lots of different solutions for this issue and they don't seem to be interchangeable. This is linked to an Android update which changed the way you can pick your files. Where we had a choice before, now everything uses this single stock blue Files app that might have popped up recently in your app drawer. If it has not, it is there and there are workarounds to make it show up.
