ResponseError: too many 502 error responses – using Speasy when AMDA is down?

When AMDA is down, which it was today until a few mins ago, python hangs when importing Speasy. Eventually (after 6 minutes on my machine) it raises the error:

ResponseError: too many 502 error responses.

I almost exclusively load pre-cached data which I downloaded a little while ago from AMDA, especially when working while travelling. Is it possible to account for this exception so that Speasy can still be used with local data when AMDA throws Error 502?

If you know of a workaround, I'd be very grateful to know it. Keep up the great work.

@harryclewis , that's indeed an issue, we have a mechanism inside Speasy that tries to check each provider status and temporary disable it if it seems down. We had many cases where our detection didn't work, specially with AMDA and the CSA where the servers can be up but do not respond to all requests.
We are trying to improve this for AMDA, but in your case, disabling AMDA would mean that you wouldn't even access data from cache for AMDA.
Your issue and the way you use Speasy make me think we should support an "offline" mode in Speasy where you would only retrieve data from cache.
