I have been experiencing this problem for 8-10 days. I deleted the app after trying for the first 3 days and failed to play the video. After about 5-7 days, today I tried to play the video again and it failed. So is this the end of my journey with Newpipe? I tried as per the instructions given in the screenshot. It works with VPN but it is annoying to use VPN just to use Newpipe and have to connect again and again after some time.I thought it would be fine after 24-48 hours but I was disappointed.

Unfortunately if your IP is banned, there is nothing to do. You can try to open the video in browser and if there is the same problem so it is not solvable (by newpipe)

• Use a VPN, such as Proton VPN
• If you have home Internet (Wi-Fi): turn the router off (perhaps overnight) and when you turn it back on, you may get a new IP
• If you only use mobile Internet (SIM): VPN may be your only option, as your IP won't change often
• Sometimes watching some videos in the official YouTube app for an hour or two may then unblock your IP

Alternatively, Brave still blocks adds on YouTube, so you could set it as your default browser, then hold-down (long-press) on a video you see in NewPipe and choose "Open in browser"

I think it is arguable¹ depends on the layout of network. Sometimes the IP is assigned not very dynamically but dynamically to one switch (which serves whole houses/areas) and won't be reassigned until scheduled or that switch turned off.

@dustdfg : it's not guaranteed that turning a home-router off will generate a new IP... but it's a simple-enough thing they can try, that won't cause any harm. Likewise for mobile, it may depend on the country and how the network is setup. They could try putting their phone into "flight mode" for a while (maybe overnight) and see if they get unblocked the next day.

But their two easiest options are to use a VPN (as that will hide your IP) or use Brave to play the videos, and NewPipe to list them -- so NewPipe essentially just acts like an RSS feed. But "just watching logged in inside browser would probably have the same effect" is advice you need to be careful with, as if you sign into YouTube in a browser where it can detect an ad-block, your YouTube account might face a temporary (or permanent) ban. Many users on r/YouTube say they've had the "ad-block detected" warning, and if you ignore it a few times, they've then been banned for 24 or 48 hours. So it's best to not sign into YouTube where an ad-blocker (such as Brave's built-in one) exists. If the OP needed to like or comment on a video, they can always use the official app then.
