Give an option for team members to own the waystone which will allow them to edit waystones and not be restricted from breaking waystones from Unbreakables mod. An option for the waystone to be visible to team members without activation should be included. More modded support outside of the vanilla teams command would be appreciated such as Open Party and Claims, FTB Teams, or Odyssey Allies.

Some things that complicate this and need to be considered first:

• What happens when there's multiple mods present that provide teams?
  • this would be the case even with just Vanilla /team and one Teams mod
  • Easiest: collect and merge all provided memberships -> need to support multiple teams
• What happens when the player is part of multiple teams?
  • Do all of them get access? Probably not wanted in all cases.
• How are different "roles" in teams handled?
  • If a member is added as a "Guest" role in a claims mod (as opposed to say, an "Editor" or "Admin" role), does that automatically mean they should be able to access/edit waystones?
  • It obviously shouldn't, but this means there's another layer of complexity to where those kind of roles would somehow need to be mapped to what they can do with a waystone.
• What happens when the player joins a team?
  • Do existing team-visible waystones become visible to members of the same team?
  • Do all teams mods have invite mechanics or do some allow adding users unprovoked?
• What happens when the player leaves a team?
  • The mod would need to be notified of this change to react to it at all, which can be difficult already in itself
  • The mod would probably need to lookup all waystones that are both owned by that player and scoped to this team to clear their team affiliation

I don't think this is as simple as just adding a new visibility option but would rather require a whole permission manager inside the waystone, with ability to grant access to specific teams or players, etc. Everything else would likely pose more questions than it would solve.

Because of that I feel like, at least the edit parts would be better off being implemented as individual addons for the Claim/Team-providing mods rather than having first-class support inbuilt within Waystones itself.

That said, Waystones for Minecraft 26.1 makes use of a Shogi rule to manage who can edit a given waystone, so there would be the option of just specifying a rule like is_owner, any_team(is_waystone_activated) (note: not yet implemented) for when someone doesn't care about the edge cases and just wants something basic.

I have some ideas for the visibility (team-scoped activations on top of the existing player-scoped activations like in the Bedrock version), and maybe simply syncing activations of waystones set to Team visibility to all of the player's teams on login. Could possibly have a TeamProvider API that can decide on which waystones should be synced to which teams, as well as a Shogi rule, to allow for extensibility without bloating up Waystones itself with complex team logic.

Greetings Blay! Thank you for taking the time to consider team support for Waystones. For context, I am currently on Minecraft Java Fabric 1.21.1 and my experience with teams are mainly from vanilla teams command, FTB Teams, and Argonauts/Odyssey Allies. Here is my opinion:

I have not considered this as the vanilla team command and mods I use do not support this unless there is multiple systems/mods. I do think they should get access to all team waystones, but the GUI probably needs a rework, such as having a categories screen before the waystone list. Categories can include "All", "Personal", "Team 1", "Team 2", etc. Prefixes of team names before the waystone name can help.

How are different "roles" in teams handled?

Not very familiar with this mechanic either. Maybe waystones can integrate management permission (adding/removing team waystones) within LuckPerms, FTB Ranks, and Prometheus/Odyssey Roles?

What happens when the player joins a team?

Existing team-visible waystones will become available to them. (like I mentioned previously, their team category will appear) Team mods have invite mechanics.

What happens when the player leaves a team?

Clear all team-related waystones

This is exactly what I was looking for as all players are part of a singular team, and team members are largely equal in terms of hierarchy. Perhaps waystones mod integrates with vanilla team commands and there are addons for FTB Teams x Waystones and Odyssey Allies x Waystones.
