audio disappearing (plugin on master in abletonI) - have to copy and delete an istance to make it return

HELLO
i'm on the latest version of the plugin (just downloaded). Running it on MAC MINI M4 in ableton.
several time per session, the audio becomes mute on the tracks where I have the plugin, including master bus. I can see the audio coming in the spectrum bot nothing is reproduced. only fixed is to copy and paste the istance and delete the old one. the one pasted will work again

not sure what is causing it

Here are some details that I want to know:

• Do you run Ableton in native mode or Rosetta mode? Do you use the x86-64 version of the plugin or the arm64 version of the plugin?
• Do you use Matched/Mixed/Zero phase?
• On the spectrum, can you see both the input signal & the output signal?
• Do you enable static gain compensation / autio gain compensation / loudness compensation?

• minimum phase, but it happened also with other phase
• yes I could see both when it happened, just no audio output
• no, none of them was active

It's easy to notice in my case as I have one istance at the beginning of the master bus chain.

It mainly happens when I stop and restart the sound. it happened with 2.0 as well and tested yesterday with 2.1 and still happening (happened 15 times in a mixing session of 1.5 hour).

Strange thing is that copying and pasting the device, while deleting (or turning off) the one not sounding anymore works, make it works again.
Meaning it's not a setting issue per se, as in the pasted device everything is identical to the one that stopped working

This is mainly happening when reproducing sound (and as I said more likely to occur after stopping and hitting play again) but I had one experience also in a file export where suddenly the audio went mute mid of the track

Thanks for the detailed response. It is quite strange as the spectrum analyzer is placed at the end of signal processing. Therefore, if the output is silent, the spectrum should show NO output signal. Could you please also provide/confirm the following info (I have just tried it really quickly in Ableton 12, but cannot reproduce the error):

• Do you use AU or VST3? What is the channel layout on the master (I would assume stereo in & stereo out)?
• Does the problem occur in both ZL Equalizer 0.6.2 AND ZL Equalizer 2 1.0.2 (cause the screenshot seems to be ZL Equalizer 0.6.2)?
• The problem seems to be related to the playback stop/start. Am I correct?
• Once you copy and paste the device (which causes silence), the problem disappears (for a while). Am I correct?
• When there is no audio output, does the Ableton built-in meter (right to the device) show silence?
• When there is no audio output, does Ableton give any warning about the device or the track?

Thank to you for following up! Re: spectrum. I will double check and will send you a screenshot. . Maybe I’m wrong. I did a 1 hour session this morning and it didn’t happen. Yesterday it happened several times Vst3. First plugin on the master. Stereo chain It’s the latest version. I never used it before version 2 :D just discovered it a few weeks ago. I installed 2.1.02 as soon as you released it, hoping it would fix Playback stop is the most frequent correlation I could build. But very few times, it happened out of the blue as well , and one when rendering on WAV at mid track Regarding the last two points, yes silence as expected and no, no warning from Ableton at all. Hi,
I tested and you were right. when the sound disappear I only see audio in and not audio out from the specturm analyzer.
I also discovered that changing the filter from mininum phase to anything else will make the audio come back

Got it. It is definitely a plugin bug. And it is likely that the bug results from the auto threshold function (the A button) of the dynamic band.

However, all the screenshots you provided are ZL Equalizer, which is not the latest version. Could you please confirm again that the issue exists in ZL Equalizer 2: https://zl-audio.github.io/plugins/zlequalizer2/installation/#installation?
