ANDROID: Double login when starting app

Describe the Bug

If I am too slow with the browser logging in I return to app login screen. It seems that I can replicate this some number of times.

Perhaps related: anusii/notepod#178 for some background

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. On Android
2. Install from Play Store 0.2.44
3. Tap LOGIN
4. Connect as WATSON01 on pods.solidcommunity.au but take your time
5. Close the browser window
6. Back to App Login screen
7. Tap LOGIN again
8. Tap YES in browser to login again
9. Close browser
10. Back to App Login Screen
11. Tap LOGIN
12. Login on browser - YES
13. Back to app asking for security keyApp is then working as expected. Log out and log back in works fine.

Expected Behaviour

Only need to login once.

Do we have method in other projects to request Android read/write to storage permissions using permission_handler package? This is required for Android v10 and above.

The flutter_secure_storage package doesn't surface write errors when permission not present. I can add the prompt for user permissions if android to solidpod.

Been meaning to also test vault_secure_storage for better secure storage error handling across platforms.

Testing with version 0.2.49 install as an apk from solidcommunity.au on the MOTO Android.

The LOGIN works if I am quick in signing in on the browser popup. But if I am slow, I am returned to the login screen and have to LOGIN again.

@anushkavidanage I get similar behaviour to Graham testing on physical Samsung Galaxy 22. Tested with release mode, as our debug manifest only has internet and no other permissions added. Note unlike ios/macos, code signing is only attempted in release version. If I am quick at pressing Yes at authorise my webid, I get logged in. If I am slower, I get the below error

As login is handled by Solidui, moving this to solidui to have the related issues together.

Spent sometime digging into this issue and here's what I found.

1. The issue originates in solid_auth specifically where we do a post request to the server token URI (eg: https://pods.solidcommunity.au/.oidc/token). The piece of code where the issue arise is the _getToken() method in src/openid/src/openid.dart file.
2. In this method a post request is made to the above url to get the access_token.
3. The post request throws the error [ERROR:flutter/runtime/dart_vm_initializer.cc(40)] Unhandled Exception: SocketException: Failed host lookup: 'pods.solidcommunity.au' (OS Error: No address associated with hostname, errno = 7)
4. The issue occurs for every new login for the very first time. It might occur in the second and third try as well.
5. According to my search, this is a DNS lookup issue where Android fails to resolve the DNS when this request is made.
6. This could happen for multiple reasons including network issues, no internet permission setup in Androidmanifest.xml, incorrect DNS configuration in the server side, etc. None of these seem to be related to an issue with the code.
7. Tried multiple suggested solutions from different sources (including Claude and Chatgpt) and none of them seem to work. The request fails consistently at least one time for every new login.
