Unable to run linux executable without insecure version of GNUTLS 3 #313

@voidarclabs

Description

@voidarclabs

Environment

  • OS: Nixos
  • Version 1.9.25b13

Describe the bug
Upon trying to run the Appimage with the latest version of the curlWithGnuTls package on nixos (equivalent to the libcurl-gnutls package on arch, they are on the same version), an error is thrown, wherein the program says that the CURL_GNUTLS_3 symbol is missing. This symbol is deprecated, as we are now onto curl 4, so it was removed quite a while ago. The curl 3 package that chataigne requires, along with this symbol, was removed from nixpkgs post commit 5171d7b0a9fbaaf216c873622eb5115b6db97957 (feb 2024), and probably removed from arch's repos around the same time.

To Reproduce
Download the latest tagged version of chataigne from github
Use ldd on the appimage to get dependencies and install the relevant libraries
attempt to run the appimage using either appimage run or steam run

Expected behavior
Chataigne runs using the latest versions of all libraries

Additional context
Not sure if this is a quirk of juce (never used it), but i have been trying to make a solid nix derivation for Chataigne, and this is the only thing stopping me from making a PR. Pinning versions isn't best practice. If there is a way to update the library so that it no longer looks for the defunct token, then I can refactor and help to give Chataigne nix support.

Love the project!
