How come XPrivateSD is neither on xda-developers.com nor in the Xposed Modules Repo?

You can't be found in the usual places:

Thanks for your interesting about this module. I had not discuss it on xda-developers.com, neither request to add to xposed repo. By experience of myself, this module will lead some performance degrade cause by the hooking of File APIs. So this module still see as experience. I have no plan to maintain or upgrade it.

OK. As a matter of fact, after installing XPrivateSD, my Samsung phone with this 7.1.1 ROM got stuck booting, so I booted with XPosed disabled and uninstalled XPrivateSD again, after which my ROM boots again fine. This was the first time ever after installing an app that that happened, so obviously your module needs some tweaking.

What I would do if I were you is at least announce it on XDA, and also state what you wrote above, adding that you point here so that other devs can look at the source code and see if they are interested in improving it. I mean, that's the point of open source 👍

I recall that sumsung phone have sdcard path different with other android phone, so it may be the cause of stuck booting. You can try install XPrivateSD and launch the app to check and fix the path of sdcard before active it in Xposed. Hope it can help you. Good luck!

ah OK, that's a valuable tip, Benstone, I'll try that asap. Can't afford to experiment with my phone right now (despite of the fact that I sure do back it up via TWRP) so give me a week or so to report back to you 👍
