I couldn't find documentation on whether or not there is a specific (client-side) way to start a teaching game. If you invoke from the server console with 'teach 19' , a teaching game will initiate and a single stone can be placed. However no further stones can be placed on the board after the first one. I tested this in both the Linux compilation and Windows. Same behavior. As I said, I didn't look too deeply into the code but there is no mention of this in the README.
