Purpose
The modernization of enterprise frontend architectures is a critical imperative for maintaining security, performance, and developer velocity.
The current architectural state of
@contentful/dam-app-base, rooted in the React 16 era, relies on patterns such as synchronous rendering, legacy context APIs, and higher-order components (HOCs) that are now deprecated or fundamentally altered in React 19. Furthermore, the surrounding ecosystem has shifted dramatically: the Contentful App SDK has evolved to version 4.x , and the Forma 36 design system has undergone a complete rewrite from version 3 to version 5.Approach
