Firmware Update Guide
DAQiFi devices' firmware can be updated through the DAQiFi Dekstop Application. Users can choose between automatically updating device firmware to the latest release or providing a binary file to update to a specific or custom firmware.
These are the required first steps to update firmware automatically or manually.
- Connect device via USB cable to host PC.
- Open DAQiFi desktop application, click the Devices icon in the left sidebar and press the + icon in the bottom right corner.
- Select the USB tab, click the COM port of the DAQiFi device, then click Connect.
-
Connect to a device as described above.
-
If the device's firmware is behind the latest published release, a notification will be visible by clicking the notification bell icon in the upper title bar shown below.

-
Click the Update Firmware icon in the devices window.

-
Click the Update button in the Firmware Update screen.

-
The firmware update should start and take approximately 45s to complete. During this time, the device will reboot into bootloader mode with the blue LED solid and the white LED flashing at 1 Hz. When complete, the device will reboot and the white LED will remain solid.
-
Next, if necessary, the WiFi module's firmware will be updated. This process should take another ~90s.
-
Please be patient during the update as the progress bars might appear to stall. Rest assured knowing the update is still processing! When finished, the desktop application will provide a notification as shown below:

-
Once the process is complete, the device will restart. Power the device on with the button or by connecting the software to the device via the USB connection tab.
A manual firmware update feature is also provided as a means to flash a different version of the firmware for debugging or custom applications.
-
Connect to a device as described in the first section above.
-
Click the device settings icon in the devices window.

-
Browse or enter the filepath for the compiled firmware binary. Then, click the update button.

-
The firmware update process should begin and notify when complete. NOTE: This does not update the WiFi module firmware!
