After some research about why "https://api.coindesk.com/v2/bpi/currentprice.json" no longer exists, it is clear CoinDesk has dropped support for it in favour of data-api.coindesk.com, a paid service that requires an API key to fetch forex rates.
CoinDesk should be replaced with another free forex rate source...suggestions here are welcome.
