'enterRNGScope' not provided by package 'Rcpp

Thanks for having set up the largeVis package! Am using it from time to time to cluster mass spectromtery data, and it is very helpful.

This is just for your information: recently, I updated to the latest R version 4.5.1 (and Rtools v4.5) and, after installing the CRAN devtools package, tried to install largeVis, using

library(devtools)
install(".../largevis")

This installation lead to an error, stating that the function enterRNGScope is not being provided by 'Rcpp', seemingly refering to a usage in one of ythe largeVis functions, namely checkBits(). The solution to this problem can be found here:

immunogenomics/LISI#3

That is, adding importFrom(Rcpp, evalCpp) to the Namespace solves this issue.

Morover, is the largeVis package still maintained and useable for the latest versions of R?

Hey I do maintain it, but I don't always get github notifications promptly. So sorry for the delay!

Anyway, I wasn't able to reproduce the issue. Can you try installing the development branch? install_github("elbamos/largevis", ref="develop") There are a bunch of issues I've fixed over time but left in develop. Actually I think I'll pull the trigger and promote to main - might as well.
