Realy like this PR, yup - I think this is a perfectly reasonable stuff for rolling our releases.
Perhaps someday we can also have some automation around "If the version in the codebase got bumped, then tag the version in Git, and roll a PyPI release", but I'm very okay with that being manual at the moment, since it keeps things nice and simple, and is easier to wrangle with when things go wrong. (Eg. a service wasn't reachable, temporarily)
