Unable to build hash

Describe the bug

I tried to build Hash from scratch using WSL, following the Getting Started steps.

To reproduce

Using Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS (up to date)

Checked versions of Git, Node, Yarn, Docker

• creating folder 'hashintel'
• git clone https://github.com/hashintel/hash.git
• cd into folder 'hash'
• yarn install

Expected behavior

Expected succesful result, but install ends with:

Hi Geert, thanks for your patience as we look into this.

It looks like @sentry/nextjs which we use imports @sentry/webpack-plugin, which in turn relies on @sentry/cli@^1.74.6. This contains an issue (getsentry/sentry-cli#1344) which was patched in later versions, but the downstream dependents have not yet been updated. There's an open issue (getsentry/sentry-webpack-plugin#383) for this.

Removing Sentry won't be trivial for us, but we do have Windows users running the app successfully using WSL. I'll find out more about what their setups look like and post here/update the docs.

Update: @luisbettencourt (our internal WSL user) followed the reproduction steps in the issue and fortunately (unfortunately?!) found it installed correctly using Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS. We'll see if we can test .5 as well. In the meantime, if you can provide any more information about the environment that might help debug that would be appreciated.

I do just want to flag that until late-February, most blocks are expected to be broken in HASH anyway. This is due to the impending release of the Block Protocol 0.3 specification. Although the HASH app has been updated to Þ 0.3, the publicly-available blocks on the Þ Hub are still serving Þ 0.2 versions and there is no current way to forcibly load in their 0.3 counterparts. You might consider revisiting then as I'm keen we don't waste your time while the app isn't particularly functional anyway. If you're on either the HASH Discord or Þ Discord, please feel free to ping me and I'd be happy to circle back when we have more news on this.

Update 2: couldn't replicate this on Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS either.

Hi David, thanks for this find about sentry; fully understandable. Unfortunately, a 'it works on my machine' scenario. I'll retry in near future. In the mean time; trying to get a better understanding of the BP. 👍
