custom_deps not working: Python 3.11 -> 3.12 (HA 2024.2)?

Did the addon custom_deps stopped working since HA upgraded python to 3.12 in the 2024.2 version?

custom_deps created config/deps/lib/python3.11 and the package wasn't beeing found.
I've copied the folder and renamed it to python3.12 and it solved the problem.

I've copied the folder to native folder with python libs:
cp -r deps/lib/python3.11/site-packages/pymysql /usr/lib/python3.12
and it solved the problem.

Finally I've copied the folder with module needed to /config/python_scripts

I think these Python versions need to be bumped to 3.13 to make this addon functional:

Yeah it is broken because of it's outdated base image.

But I was actually considering deprecate the add-on.

What is the use case here? Can't this just be done by defining explicit requirements in a custom component? 🤔

I just attempted to use this addon to see if NabuCasa/hass-nabucasa#887 fixes an issue I've been having with cloud connections.

I think requiring users to fork the component and then update the requirement is fine too, but it should probably be documented somewhere more clearly.

But then you have the same functionality, just maintained elsewhere and requiring pointless boilerplate to use. I'd honestly prefer it if Core provided this directly but this isn't an idea other people like 😅.

If HACS is the way to go, then I'll make a custom component.
