How To Reset WiFi

Ben edited this page Nov 1, 2026 · 3 revisions

If you have a Raspberry Pi running the Homebridge Raspberry Pi Image and need to disconnect it from your local WiFi network, you can do this by following these steps.

Connect via SSH, run sudo hb-config and select the Networking option to run the NetworkManager Terminal UI. You can also run sudo nmtui directly.

This will bring up this screen, select Edit a connection:

nmtui-initial

Select your WiFi connection from the list and delete it:

nmtui-delete-wifi

Confirm you want to delete it:

nmtui-confirm-delete-wifi

Restart your Raspberry Pi. If it cannot connect to a network within about 20 seconds, the Homebridge WiFi Setup hotspot will start, so you can connect it to a new WiFi network. See Getting Started for the steps.
