From this Intfiction thread:

This pull request fixes this issue based on the Intfiction thread, which I just filed. It adds a message to the edit profile page about putting <a> in your profile.

It also fixes the problem where <span class="microhelp"> elements were difficult to see in dark mode.

In the edit user profile page,
warn users that putting the <a> element in
their profile will flag their account
and remove features from it until they contact
the IFDB team.
The previous text color was too dark and difficult
to see against the black background. I added
a dark mode rule to make it use a lighter text
color.

One of the moderators said, "I try and keep on top of approving changes. Even for the folks who change their profile… frequently. [...] I’d just ask that anyone who has a pending profile that hasn’t been reviewed in a timely fashion to please reach out. It’s a quick fix." https://intfiction.org/t/ifdb-mods-and-this-users-profile-is-pending-review/78335/4

The message "You will need to contact the IFDB team to remove this status" makes it sound like needing to contact the mods is the rule rather than the exception. So I might reword it a bit.

Not obvious that putting <a> into your profile puts it under review
