Embedded Git Corrupts UTF-8 Special Characters (µ → µ) in HealthShare Lookup Tables #990
I am currently working on integrating Embedded Git (git-source-control) into our Intersystems Healthshare Integration Engine, Everything works fine so far. We have noticed a bug that seems to be an issue with how Embedded Git handles Lookup Table containing lookup item(s)/entries that has irregular character (µ) in them.
Problem
Whenever I add a lookup entry (starting with a µ) into the lookup table, It works fines until I merge my changes/branch into the master branch or If I commit my changes and switch between branches, It automatically changes the character µ into µ on the lookup table section of the Mangement Portal.
for example; µmol/L automatically changes to µmol/L µL automatically changes to µL
Investigations done so far
I have Investigated this issue, check the raw file of the lookup table which is tracked by Embedded Git, When I open the raw file using Notepad or VS Code, it shows the lookup entry item correctly as µmol/L but displays µmol/L on the management portal.
I also tried untracking the Lookup table on the git-source-control but this will not be able to work as my code which is on the master branch will need to do a lookup on the lookup table which I untracked from the master branch. So therefore this can not work for me.
Observations/Theory
My theory to what I think is happening is that the issue is due to character encoding mismatch. i.e. Embedded Git handles lookup table as .lut file type while the Intersystems Management Portal handles it as a .xml file type to display the lookup entries. So the problem seem to be the encoding used when Embedded Git (git-source control) reads the .lut file back into Intersystems Healthshare.
@isc-pbarton, now that a fix has been put in for this.. do I have to update the Embedded Git (git-source-control) once this is released and when is this expected to be released.. I have check the repo for the change log to track the release but couldn't find any. Thank you.

Sorry for the delay @AtolagbeMuiz. I've replicated the issue and will look at a fix.

@AtolagbeMuiz I've just released a patch version that includes this fix. Try updating to the latest available version 2.17.1:
