Describe the feature you'd like to see
Context
I came across this project SwiftVLC and wanted to surface it here for discussion.
It’s a Swift-native wrapper around libVLC 4, built with modern Swift features like async/await and SwiftUI in mind. It also appears to support Picture-in-Picture (PiP), which could be useful compared to VLCKit.
Discussion
Opening this to get input from people more familiar with this space:
- Is something like this viable long-term?
- What gaps does it currently have compared to VLCKit?
- Is it worth keeping an eye on as it matures?
Why this issue exists
Mainly to keep this on the radar. If the project evolves into something stable and production-ready, it might be worth revisiting in the future.
