Josué Soto Villarreal

I build learning tools, web products, and automation in Python and TypeScript. Based in Mexico; working in Spanish and English.

My current focus is source-grounded learning: turning documents and videos into useful material with traceable citations, independent checks, and repeatable workflows.

  • OpenLearn — Local-first PDF-to-course tooling built with Python and Docling. A working one-chapter prototype with page-grounded lessons, understanding checks, review scheduling, and integrity validation. External learner validation is next.
  • ResicoCalc — Deployed RESICO tax calculator: Next.js, Supabase, Stripe, tested calculations, and PDF reports. 160,000 AI citations, 10,000+ clicks, and approximately 50 users without marketing.
  • book-tutor — A 30+ command Python CLI for searchable, page-cited PDF workspaces, with resumable ingestion, citation checks, audit reports, tests, and CI.
  • yt-tutor — A Python pipeline that turns video speech and visuals into timestamped learning material, with transcription, frame extraction, and source verification.
  • Hermes Voice Implementation — Windows microphone routing and voice-session tooling. Local routing/startup validated; remote two-way calling and Discord integration are in development.
  • sitios-cr — An Astro/TypeScript website system with 12+ responsive catalog/service sites, reusable components, WhatsApp contact flows, deployment tooling, and conversion-path tests.

Other work: HolaJaime (WhatsApp business assistant), HolaJaime Lead Pipeline (resumable extraction, deduplication, enrichment, and scoring), Valuxe Eventos (local website prototype and product design), and ValoProb (esports-data/video-analysis project in development).

Problems I work on

  • Making document and video information searchable, cited, and independently verifiable.
  • Building web products end-to-end: interfaces, authentication, payments, automation, and deployment.
  • Debugging and testing AI-assisted implementations; evaluating multimodal outputs against structured rubrics and source evidence.
