[BUG]: Outline folding not working as expected since v1.4.0

What happened?

SInce v1.4.0 the outline feature behaves differently.

What did you expect to happen?

Same behaviour as before with a "tree" in the outline area.
Region also as different color than before - not sure if this is related.
