Documentation of amazonlinux images tagging convention and update frequency

There are amazonlinux-based images available, but I could not find any documentation about the exact tag naming convention for those, nor about their update frequency (and whether there can be any expectation about how much time after a new amazonlinux base image is released a micromamba image can be expected to be available building upon it).

Is such a documentation available anywhere, or could someone provide information about these. Also, are there any limitations about using these images in productive environments?

Hi @bguillod,

We have documentation on of tagging here. We currently have images based on public.ecr.aws/amazonlinux/amazonlinux:2023 and we don't make use of the more fine-grained tags for this base image.

We build new images when:

• new versions of micromamba are released
• when I notice there is a critical vulnerability in one of the base images
• when I merge a PR

Builds are not triggered by upstream image releases.
