What's CRIU?

CRIU (stands for Checkpoint and Restore in Userspace) is a utility to checkpoint/restore Linux tasks.

Thanks for creating the issue @tobwen!
I agree it makes sense to add the criu binary to the image, particularly since it is required by the podman container checkout command and also shipped within the official podman image.
