support for multiple docs versions with "mike"

the AWS load balancer controller uses the mike wrapper for mkdocs to manage multiple versions of the docs.

what do we think about updating this to support mike?

or would that be better as a true fork?

I'm the author of mike. Feel free to ping me if you have questions or want me to take a look at a patch. I doubt I'll have time to work on a patch myself since I've got a lot of other stuff to work on (and if I'm being frank, mike is the project I'm the least excited about spending my free time on -- I just wrote it because I needed it for another project), but I'm happy to provide guidance where I can.
