How to make npm less verbose?

I'm using these images on a daily basis and would like to know how I can reduce the verbosity of npm.
My logs keep filling up with a lot of `npm info` messages like these below:

npm info ok 
npm info it worked if it ends with ok
npm info using npm@3.8.6
npm info using node@v5.12.0
```
