instead of using a version-specific Zenodo DOI for the badge and link in the readme file, use the version-independent link that redirects to the latest version.
(the current link resolved to v2024.05.0 which was released over a year and a half ago.)
this should avoid any confusion for people not noticing the Zenodo banner:
and is guaranteed to keep resolving statically for all future releases.
