Yes, there are continuing challenges in downloading from YouTube. The yt-dlp developers are trying their best. Follow the link to get more info.

Check a few things:

• Make sure you are using MacYTDL v1.30.
• Make sure you have Deno installed.
• Try this:
  • in MacYTDL, go to Settings;
  • tick the box beside "Use custom settings";
  • inside the text box labelled "Custom settings" type this: --cookies-from-browser [browser]
  • replace "[browser]" with the name of your web browser eg. safari
  • click on "Save Settings".

Beware that sending your cookies to YouTube means telling them your YouTube login credentials. For more information look here: yt-dlp/yt-dlp#15724.
