cant log in to re connect devices

my echo devices stopped working in homey 2018 ,so I had to reconnect but when I try to reconnect my account I enter my email address
and as soon as I enter the verification code I get a 404 page not found, looks like an amazon page with images of dogs on it.
also after each attempt I have to restart homey 3 times or i get a proxy error when I hit the connect button.
is there anything i can do to resolve this

Sad puppies mean you have either not set up a second factor or setup the second factor as something like email instead of an OTP code in an authenticator app (for example Google Authenticator).

didn't know this app needed 2FA for it to work, does it work with sms or passkeys

You need to use 2FA codes from an authenticator app. Sms does not work for this login. Not sure about passkey though.
