Trending Hashtags, Posts, Links

This seems like 3 different user stories!

I imagined a single trending endpoint, that could return all 3 object types.

Thinking about it further, perhaps these should be separate

It seems like these must be fairly trivial on any given server/host. Much more challenging when aggregation comes into the picture. Especially across some increasing number of servers/hosts with variably low/medium/high numbers of users, actors, etc.

I'm not sure I'd argue for this to be included in the core profile, tbh, as I think many AS/AP user stories don't necessarily lend themselves to the concept of a trend. for example, if you were using an AP client just to follow packages and releases on gitforges, is trending an endpoint git forges should have to (or be recommended) to stand up? some messaging and activities are just peacefully oblivious to oblivious to trends in the madding crowd 🧘
