Seems to have stopped working on vim 9.x

I'm not sure when this happened exactly but I noticed that gotmpl files were no longer being highlighted for me. I believe one of the changes from the past year may be at fault because I went a pretty long time without updating.

I suspect the new FileType autocmd may not be getting handled correctly? I'm not a vim guru so I'm unsure why it wouldn't be working.

It works for me on Vim 9.1 and it detects the filetype helm. But I noticed that _helpers.tpl is detected as mustache because that is set in a modeline:

{{/* vim: set filetype=mustache: */}}

Is that what you see?

hmmm, so I'm opening a ../helmfile.yaml.gotmpl file and when I check the filetype it says:

  filetype=

So I'm assuming that means no filetype is set? Is there something else I can check?

I setup neovim and it's not working there either. I feel like I must have a vimrc setting wrong.

When I set filetype explicitly to helm it properly highlights. So I know that the filetype works but the detection seems to not be working 🤔

I've added this to my vimrc to workaround it:

autocmd  BufRead,BufNewFile *.gotmpl set ft=helm

What is the parent directory of your file?

It could be that this PR changed this:

That could be it. Perhaps we're using the files in the wrong location based on convention.

Anyhow, the workaround is easy enough, feel free to close if matching outside that location doesn't make sense.
