## User-Facing Changes NA ## Description Implements a GitFlow-based release workflow. A pre-release with a version in the format vX.Y.Z-rc.N can be manually triggered on demand. Every merge into main triggers a full release — if it’s from a hotfix branch, it bumps the patch version; if it’s from a release branch, it bumps the minor version. ### Repo Settings: 1 - A new ruleset to protect branch `develop` from merge was created. 2 - The new base branch will be `develop` which will raise the need for updating every existing PR to merge with develop. 3 - Branches with naming that is not compliant with repo rules will trigger the failure of `enforce-branch-naming` worflow. ## Checklist - [ ] The web version was tested and it is running ok - [ ] The desktop version was tested and it is running ok - [ ] This change is covered by unit tests - [ ] Files constants.ts, types.ts and *.style.ts have been checked and relevant code snippets have been relocated
## User-Facing Changes Users can now select multiple layouts at once. Previously, the UI suggested that bulk actions (Delete, Revert, Duplicate, Save) would apply to all selected layouts, but these actions were either broken or misleading. This PR fixes the bulk actions so that they correctly apply to multiple selections. ## Description Enables bulk actions (Delete, Revert, Duplicate, Save) to work as expected when multiple layouts are selected. Multiple selection is supported via `modKey + mouse click`. Multiple selection with `shift + mouse click` is intentionally disabled. <!-- link relevant GitHub issues --> <!-- add `docs` label if this PR requires documentation updates --> <!-- add relevant metric tracking for experimental / new features --> ## Checklist - [x] The web version was tested and it is running ok - [x] The desktop version was tested and it is running ok - [x] This change is covered by unit tests - [x] Files constants.ts, types.ts and *.style.ts have been checked and relevant code snippets have been relocated
## User-Facing Changes Users can now open a second instance, using the flag `--force-multiple-windows` and `--source`. ## Description In the implementation of `--force-multiple-windows`, it was passed the files arguments to be opened, but not the files in the `--source`. It was merged and unified to be in one place, and called accordingly. Unit tests were also added. ## Checklist - [X] The desktop version was tested and it is running ok - [X] This change is covered by unit tests - [X] Files constants.ts, types.ts and *.style.ts have been checked and relevant code snippets have been relocated

## User-Facing Changes Fixed a bug a caused by having two or more Series on a plot panel of the same message that would cause the data to be merged into a single object and thus creating conflicts on the line connecting the data. <img width="826" height="481" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/96585678-1f47-4949-aabc-e045064131c9" /> **Now with two series of the same message the plot renders data as expected:** (cant really be seen here, cause as expected the data is overlapping) <img width="1269" height="539" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/5544b77a-7c95-472f-8dec-e01b9f100b74" /> ## Description The problem lied on the moment the objects with the series configuration were created, more specifically on their `key`. The `key` attribute consisted of a string with the path timestamp `receiveTime` or `headerStamp` plus the message path. So when there were two series with the same message path the key would be the same for both of them and therefore the objects were merged into a single one with all the data in a single array, containing duplicated data. <img width="1957" height="1207" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/dba21cc3-23ca-4e66-aec1-755e75a58778" /> The fix I implemented is to simply include the series index on the key which makes it impossible for it to be repeated even if they're of the same message path. ## Checklist - [x] The web version was tested and it is running ok - [x] The desktop version was tested and it is running ok - [x] This change is covered by unit tests - [x] Files constants.ts, types.ts and *.style.ts have been checked and relevant code snippets have been relocated
## User-Facing Changes User can now expect the scroll-to-bottom button to only appear when user actively scrolls up. ## Description Reworked scroll logic and reduced number of recalculations of row height. ## User-Facing Changes For extension developers, global variables can now be accessed inside converter(). ## Description This allows extensions to better cover their use cases. Some revisions to renderState had to be made which will, in the end, improve panel and extension functionality. Example extensions were developed to allow easier testing of this feature. Access `feature/test-global-variables` in https://github.com/lichtblick-suite/create-lichtblick-extension. Note: Only the "currentFrame" use case was changed. Demo: Using e2e/fixtures/assets/example.mcap, get-global-variables converts MouseEvent into LocationFix. set-global-variables panel sets "lastMouseEvent" variable, get-global-variables panel uses this variable (when it's "aboveThreshold") to multiply the coordinates. https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/30addbb8-4e0d-4761-a60c-1bbb8dd20837 https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/af004bf7-3df5-4c8f-80cd-735c732e43c7 ## Checklist - [x] The web version was tested and it is running ok - [x] The desktop version was tested and it is running ok - [x] This change is covered by unit tests - [x] Files constants.ts, types.ts and *.style.ts have been checked and relevant code snippets have been relocated

…on (#788) For triangle primitives there is code that checks if a new vertex/color changed as compared to the previous state of the TriangleMesh object. This was supposed to prevent unnecessary updates/computation. But we noticed that the vertex comparison does not work due to internal three.js vertex data being of type `Float32Array` whereas the primitive vertex data is of type `Point3` with underlying `number`-values (64-bit floating-point values). So the `vertChanged`/`colorChanged` comparisons - even if incoming values don't change as compared to the previous step - never evaluate to true, hence the optimization never actually works. This PR fixes the existing optimization by rounding to the nearest 32-bit single precision float representation of both numbers before the comparison. I added a small tolerance to the comparison for it to work reliably. This PR uses this comparison as basis to prevent re-setting identical vertex/color data if it hasn't changed. --------- Signed-off-by: Thomas Sedlmayer <tsedlmayer@pmsfit.de>

## User-Facing Changes - Fixed an issue in the Plot panel’s Message Path input where typing lag increased exponentially as more Series were added. <img width="367" height="247" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/bf2da47d-69a0-40c3-99c1-bd103f911c0c" /> ## Description - First, I identified that the input lag came from the `MessagePathInput` component. Even though only one Series was being updated at a time, every instance of the component was re-rendering. To fix this, I moved the logic inside the input’s `onChange` handler into a memoized callback instead of defining it inline. This prevents the function from being recreated on every change and stops all `MessagePathInput` components from re-rendering unnecessarily. <img width="1162" height="492" alt="Screenshot from 2025-12-02 09-55-11" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/add86f0c-60f8-435e-ade7-13971a4f2c7c" /> - Using cache with new implemented `WeakMap` on `MessagePathsStructure` so values that are no longer referenced can be removed by garbage collector. In practice, the `datatypes` object changes very rarely, but the UI re-renders often and many components rely on this same derived data. Without memoization, the structure would be rebuilt repeatedly across the tree, creating unnecessary work. Using a `WeakMap` lets us cache the result based on the identity of the `datatypes` object while avoiding memory leaks, since entries are automatically released when the key is no longer referenced. ## Checklist - [x] The web version was tested and it is running ok - [x] The desktop version was tested and it is running ok - [x] This change is covered by unit tests - [x] Files constants.ts, types.ts and *.style.ts have been checked and relevant code snippets have been relocated --------- Co-authored-by: Bezerra Luiz, (Luiz.Bezerra@ctw.bmwgroup.com) <198787532+luiz-bezerra-ctw-bmwgroup-com_QCOM@users.noreply.github.com>

As stated in [the current Foxglove developer's stance](https://github.com/orgs/foxglove/discussions/1131), currently this subprotocol is identical to `foxglove.websocket.v1`, so supporting subprotocol is just adding the new subprotocol name alongside the older one, and the end user need not to distinghish the Foxglove bridge 3.2.1 and 0.8.x. This follows the discussion from #788 with @luluiz and tackles the quite inefficient conversion of triangle vertex colors per render step. This calculation is called thousands of times for bigger triangle list primitives. Apparently, the current code doesn't enable optimization properly so that the look-up table implementation is significantly faster. --------- Signed-off-by: Thomas Sedlmayer <tsedlmayer@pmsfit.de>

## User-Facing Changes This architectural change addresses critical performance bottlenecks in the original implementation that become problematic with complex robotics data structures. ## Description RawMessagesTwo replaces the `react-json-tree` library with a custom virtualized tree component powered by `@tanstack/react-virtual`, rendering only visible DOM nodes instead of the entire message structure. This architectural shift delivers faster operations, fewer DOM nodes, and less memory consumption, eliminating UI freezes when displaying large messages with thousands of fields. The virtualization library provides industry-standard windowing with minimal API surface, efficient scroll handling, and proven scalability to millions of rows, making it the optimal choice for handling large hierarchical data structures. By flattening the tree structure into a linear array and rendering only the viewport's visible rows, the implementation maintains constant performance regardless of message size while preserving full feature parity with the original panel. ## Checklist - [ ] The web version was tested and it is running ok - [ ] The desktop version was tested and it is running ok - [ ] This change is covered by unit tests - [ ] Files constants.ts, types.ts and *.style.ts have been checked and relevant code snippets have been relocated --------- Signed-off-by: Gabriela Almeida <gabriela.almeida@criticaltechworks.com> Co-authored-by: Luiz Bezerra <luiz.bezerra@ctw.bmwgroup.com> Co-authored-by: Bezerra Luiz, (Luiz.Bezerra@ctw.bmwgroup.com) <198787532+luiz-bezerra-ctw-bmwgroup-com_QCOM@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Joao Luis <joao.miguel.luis@criticaltechworks.com> Co-authored-by: rodrigo-rodrigues-ctw <rodrigo.PE.rodrigues@ctw.bmwgroup.com>
