Adds a new seccomp-profile template and a no-seccomp-profile built-in check that flag containers running without a seccomp profile.
Seccomp is one of the standard container isolation controls: the Pod Security Standards require seccompProfile.type to be RuntimeDefault or Localhost for the Restricted profile, and the CIS Kubernetes Benchmark recommends running containers with a seccomp profile. Despite this, kube-linter has no check for a missing seccomp profile today, while peer linters (kubeaudit, Polaris, Checkov) all ship one.
The check flags any container — regular, init, or ephemeral — whose effective seccomp profile does not confine it:
The container-level securityContext.seccompProfile takes precedence over the pod-level one, mirroring how Kubernetes resolves these fields. A container is compliant if either level sets a profile of type RuntimeDefault or Localhost.
An explicit Unconfined profile does not count as having a profile, since it applies no syscall filtering (the same treatment kubeaudit and Checkov give it).
Following the precedent of other opt-in checks (for example no-image-digest), the new check is not enabled by default.
Changes
New template pkg/templates/seccompprofile (key seccomp-profile), registered in pkg/templates/all, with generated params boilerplate (no parameters) and unit tests covering: no profile anywhere, empty securityContext, empty profile type, explicit Unconfined at container and pod level, container- and pod-level RuntimeDefault/Localhost compliance, container-over-pod precedence, and init/ephemeral containers (including pod-level coverage of them).
New built-in check pkg/builtinchecks/yamls/no-seccomp-profile.yaml.
New end-to-end fixture tests/checks/no-seccomp-profile.yml and a matching no-seccomp-profile test in e2etests/bats-tests.sh (pod-level RuntimeDefault and container-level Localhost objects do not fire; objects with no profile in a Deployment and a DeploymentConfig do).
Regenerated docs/generated/checks.md and docs/generated/templates.md (Enabled by default: No).
How I tested
go test ./pkg/templates/seccompprofile/... ./pkg/builtinchecks/... — pass.
go test ./pkg/templates/... ./pkg/builtinchecks/... ./internal/defaultchecks/... — pass.
e2etests/check-bats-tests.sh (verifies the checks list output matches the bats test list) — pass.
Ran the bats test for the new check specifically (bats --filter no-seccomp-profile e2etests/bats-tests.sh) against the freshly built binary — pass.
Manual runs of the built binary:
Manifest with no seccomp anywhere: fires once per container, including the init container.
Manifest with only a pod-level RuntimeDefault profile: no findings.
Manifest with only a container-level Localhost profile: no findings.
Manifest with a container-level Unconfined profile: fires.
Add a new seccomp-profile template and a no-seccomp-profile built-in
check that flag containers (regular, init, and ephemeral) whose
effective seccomp profile is unset or explicitly Unconfined. A
container is compliant if a RuntimeDefault or Localhost profile is set
on either the container or the pod. The check is opt-in and not
enabled by default.

Added a built-in check that reports containers in deployment workloads without an effective seccomp profile, including regular, init, and ephemeral containers.
The check recognizes profiles set at either the container or pod level. A container-level profile takes precedence; empty profiles and Unconfined are not accepted.
The check recommends RuntimeDefault or Localhost as valid profile types.
The change adds and registers a built-in seccomp-profile check for deployment-like workloads. The check reports containers without an effective seccomp profile. Unit tests and end-to-end tests cover configured and missing profiles.
Changes: Seccomp profile check
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Check contract and registration pkg/builtinchecks/yamls/no-seccomp-profile.yaml, pkg/templates/seccompprofile/internal/params/*, pkg/templates/all/all.go
Adds check metadata, empty template parameters and parameter parsing functions, and registers the template.
Profile evaluation and unit tests pkg/templates/seccompprofile/template.go, pkg/templates/seccompprofile/template_test.go
Checks regular, init, and ephemeral containers. A container-level profile takes precedence over the pod-level profile. Empty profile types and Unconfined do not count as set. Tests cover these cases and RuntimeDefault and Localhost.
Fixtures and end-to-end validation tests/checks/no-seccomp-profile.yml, e2etests/bats-tests.sh
Adds Deployment and DeploymentConfig fixtures with and without profiles. The end-to-end test expects two missing-profile reports.
The opt-in check can miss invalid seccomp configurations; whitelist supported profile types before merging.

hasSeccompProfile returns true for unknown non-empty types and for Localhost without LocalhostProfile. The linter decodes these values into supported workload objects without API validation, so the check can miss invalid profiles instead of reporting them.
